Indonesia's state power utility company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) plans to build a gas receiving terminal valued at US$500 million in a bid to secure gas fuel for its power plants in Java. PLN president Fahmi Mochtar said the project would be built in cooperation with state oil and gas company PT Pertamina and state controlled gas utility company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN).

A consortium will be formed in charge of financing and building the project in Bojoneggoro, Banten, starting next year, Fahmi said. The terminal with a storage capacity of 800 million standard cubic feet per day is expected to be operational in 2013.
