The Conference is being organised jointly by the ASEAN Council on Petroleum Gas Centre (AGC), Malaysian Gas Association (MGA) and World Gas Conference 2012 (WGC 2012) as a long term commitment to the development of a world class industry driven pipeline event in the ASEAN region.

The petroleum industry including the pipeline sector has faced and overcome many challenges to its development. Today, one of the major challenges is optimising the performance of a very wide range of assets for example older pipelines, challenging product mixes and maintaining pipeline flaws in difficult operating environments. At the same time it is proving challenging to secure, develop and maintain the human resources needed to operate these assets. This year's APCE will focus on optimising pipeline performance and enhancing human capital to secure the long term future of our industry.

APCE 09 represents an outstanding opportunity for the pipeline community in this region to compare experiences, discuss pipeline operational issues and share new development concepts.  As was the case with APCE 07, proceeds from this year’s event will be invested in the development of young pipeline professionals in the form of an overseas Study Tour.
